Sister Mary

I was born in Selma Alabama and lived in Fairhope Alabama until I was 14.  I got my first record player at the age of 12 and the first 45 record I bought with my pecan money (I picked pecans for summer money) was the Beatles.  At the age of 14 our family moved to Eau Gallie, Flordia.  After moving to Eau Gallie I discovered FM radio (WORJ-Orlando)and back then it was what we called free form somewhat  like public radio is today.   I loved it and would listen sometimes all night long.  All through my school years I was a dancing fool.

In the 70's I lived in Orlando, Florida and worked in apartment management where I met the program director of that radio station I loved to listen to (WORJ)and that is when I started to get some very interesting records(vinyl records).  I am a fan of all kinds of music because of all the exposure I have from this experience.  Later in the 70's I started working for a local telephone company installing equipment and lines.  I spent 25 years with the phone company.

When I retired I moved back to Palm Bay and became an avid follower of WFIT and the Saturday Blues.  I love to volunteer during the fund drives.  Brother Frank and Father Jay are wonderful and it is a pleasure to volunteer for the show.  I love working with the webmaster Steve Bankert on the contributions to the show's website saturdayblues.com
